#1. Jumeirah Creekside Hotel

One of a group of luxury hotels near Dubai International Airport, the Jumeirah is located in the Deira section of the city. The glass and concrete structure houses 292 rooms that feature geometric, asymmetrical decor, wood paneling and tufted red leather, creating a ’60s mod feel.

There are a large number of hotel services and several restaurants nearby, including a popular pub called The Irish Village, which is close enough to the hotel that noise complaints from time to time have been reported. Other issues cited by guests include the occasional lack of hot water, unsatisfactory service at check-in fast and uneven Wi-Fi.

The Royal Club section has elegant rooms and wonderful amenities. But the main building – with standard disappointing rooms, and generally tired facilities – is in need of an overhaul. Those wishing to explore the main attractions of Dubai may find the hotel to be a bit out of the way.

#3. Le Meridien Fairway

Le Meridien Fairway Hotel UAE

This 58-room airport hotel is quite nice, the mid-range superior version of the standard-scale hotel. The traditional decor room is a bit dated but the gym and pool are nice enough. And if layover permits, a five-minute drive to the luxurious Le Meridien Dubai (open to all Le Meridien Fairway guests) will dress up your stay a bit.

Those willing to rise in price a little may prefer to stay in Le Meridien Duabi’s elegant Royal Club rooms. All in all, however, this is a good value for a short stay.

#4. Al Ghurair Rayhaan Dubai

Al Ghurair Hotel UAE

Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana is a large, modern hotel in Deira, Dubai. The hotel is part of a larger two tower complex that houses the hotel’s 428 rooms along with the Al Ghurair shopping center.

Along the property, there are spacious and luxurious facilities one would expect from a four-star hotel, including a Bodylines gym with heated outdoor pool, a full-range Zen spa, and two haute cuisine restaurants.

The rooms are modernly decorated, equipped with plenty of space, and tastefully decorated in warm tones. Two elements to note is that the hotel is an alcohol-free area and does not offer free Wi-Fi.

#5. Flora Grand Hotel

Flora Grand HOtel Dubai U.A.E

Both tourists and business travelers looking to stay in the heart of Deira would do well in the 4 star Flora Grand Hotel. Only a few subway stops from the airport and the new Dubai luxury center, the hotel is a point above other hotels in the Deira area thanks to a recent renovation.

The rooms are modern and clean, with wooden floors and city views, and features a spa, an outdoor pool, fitness center, state-of-the-art meeting and presentation rooms, and a restaurant and cafe.

It is worth noting, however, that the restaurant does not serve alcohol (but several other restaurants are within walking distance) and the pool area could be a bit small and lacking in sun loungers for families with small children.
